Shipping Coordinator / Sales Assistant (filled)

On behalf of our client, we are seeking qualified candidates to assist this busy plant's sales, shipping and production departments. Under general supervision, this position requires someone to assist in coordinating the shipment of lime, mineral products and by-products from the Natividad plant in Salinas, CA as well as receive and input all customer orders. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supporting documentation flow and reports for accounting and sales (on both the local and corporate levels) and plant personnel to ensure products are shipped in an accurate, cost effective schedule, assist in quality data entry, customer service, as well as assist in communication with logistics companies. Monitor current inventories and outstanding orders to maximize efficiency of product loading for customers. The main goal is to handle all day-to-day customer requirements and daily production data. Additional time is spent working on projects assigned by Sales Manager, or serving as administrative backup for the front office. The major challenge is satisfying customers, which is accomplished by working closely with production personnel. Balancing of product demand with inventories will be the major concern during the busy season. The qualified candidate will ensure all customer orders are met accurately and timely, by assisting sales and coordinating schedules with the production departments. The qualified candidate will also maintain all work orders and SAP data to keep pricing and billing accurate, prepare all necessary reports for sales, production, accounting, or business unit, including the monthly latest thinking forecast as well as receive and forward credit application information for new customer accounts.The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively manage many projects and customer needs at once. Communication, accuracy, attention to detail and exceptional office organizational skills are critical. Experience in office detail is a must, along with customer service communication skills and proficiency in Word and Excel.
