Tasting Room Manager - Salinas Valley Wine Trail

On behalf of our client, we are seeking candidates for the position of Tasting Room Manager (TRM). Primary responsibilities are to manage a profitable tasting room with a staff that is friendly, courteous, professional and knowledgeable about this client's wines and merchandise. Through high quality merchandise, service, presentation, and salesmanship, it is an important goal for you to cultivate an excellent value image for their ultra-premium wines. Additionally the TRM oversees sales and deliveries to all customers including restaurants, shareholders, retail outlets and “Friends of the Winery”. Major tasks:
- As the TRM you will be working in cooperation with the management team. This management team is a working group that supports important consistencies in wine quality, merchandise, personnel management and accounting policies and procedures.
- Responsibilities also include taking on special tasks and assignments to help keep the overall management team moving toward its priorities.
- Examples of special assignments include: Participating in wine tasting events and promotional activities such as maintaining active memberships in Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association Committees and the Salinas Valley Tasting Room Association; Monitoring and growing the wine club and overseeing the wine club shipment each quarter; and carefully and accurately preparing payroll documents, tasting room accounting and off-premise account inventory control sheets.
- Approximately once every two weeks, the Staff meets for one to two hours to assess work progress and to evaluate priorities. Participation in these meetings is key to managing our resources for the weeks ahead. Attendance is mandatory. Excellent communication is critical for this position. Ongoing communication with the GM of Direct Sales & Marketing regarding daily business activity, special promotions, special events and all details associated with wine sales is crucial. It is important to keep the overall management team informed of tasting room activities by posting a schedule and maintaining an easily accessible calendar.

· Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to work flexible and extended hours as needed and must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
